The Splintered Lands Adventures

Over the weekend, I introduced a couple of my son's friends to gaming and they loved it!  Archer just turned 10 and in addition to a regular party, he had 2 friends over for a special game.  I set up a ruined city and each boy led a band of adventurers in to pillage and loot the monsters.  Fun was had by all.

I decided to set up a whole area, including an wilderness area for what will hopefully be months of adventurers and skirmish scenarios.  Archer and I played a first stage in an adventure that I will write up tomorrow.

For now, here are some pictures of the ruined city and the wilderness outside.

In this first picture, the graveyard area is on the right, which will, of course, be the headquarters for various undead big bads.  There is also an old, abandoned manor house in the middle that is part of the wall surrounding the ruined city.

In this picture the focus is the ruined city.  On the right is a walled keep that will be the center of power for some nasty orc king or vampire lord.

From this side, the collapsed wall and swamp are in the center and left.  Various nasty critters like bullywugs and lizard men may be encountered there.  On the right is a hill ringed with stones, which will certainly be the focal point of some scenario.

In the final picture, the wilderness area is the focus and on the right is a small village, which will be either for a bear clan or wolf clan group of human barbarians.

Jaw hits ground. Awesome.
But to me it looks like that terrain is taking up SLM work space... Tut tut.
Take some photos of the cabinets at the back! I bet they're better than the biggest toy shop!

Thanks, all. Jimboba, I will definitely take some pics of the cabinets sometime! As far as work space, my wife jokes that I can fill any flat surface and she is not wrong.

Filling every flat space runs in the McBride family. Including Lucy, whose own office shows her with no room to talk!

But of course gaming IS SLM work!

Wow, that's some brilliant terrain.

Where are the buildings from?

Dan, the buildings are old Crescent Root Studios pieces. I got them 12+ years ago and wish they were still available as I would love to get more.
